I WANT ONE!

Pink Dyson Vaccuum Giveaway by the Domestic Diva

Wow I never thought I’d want a vacuum cleaner so badly, but honestly when you’re on your like 7th vacuum cleaner out of 7 years of marriage you get that desperate.  My hubby and I murder vacuum cleaners no joke.  They are in the trash can as fast as paper plates around here, it is INSANE!

So, This is not the 1st, but the 2nd or 3rd time I’ve blogged about a vacuum cleaner because I’m trying to win one on a blog contest.  I know ya’ll are going to get tired of it., but honestly they say that DYSONS are the greatest and hey…. it’s PINK!  As you can see by all the pink displayed here on my blog. I (heart) pink!  Who knew huh?

So, head over to Domestic Diva’s blog to enter.

Some Thanks is Due- My Big Thank You Note

I have been one lucky girl the past day or so, well I say lucky, but what I really mean is blessed. God is taking care of me and so much is going well. However I do have to say “Thank you” to a few people.

First of all my writing business is going really well. If it weren’t for the encouragement of Shannon Cherry to write for others, I would not have done this I don’t believe, or at least not at this time. I am loving writing for others and have several clients, and even retainer clients on a monthly basis already lined up. I am still open to more clients though the retainer slots are going fast.

Secondly, yesterday as I was listening to Mom’s Morning Show I was shocked to find out I won the Lil Squeakers shoes. I had entered the contest on Monday, saying I’d love to have some for Lily who is 8 months old but already pulling up and should be walking in a few months. Well, I won!!! Thanks so much to the owner of Lil Squeakers, Maryann Smith.Lil squeakers

Finally, yesterday afternoon Kelly posted on her WAHMTalkRadio Blog that she was going to have an Open Blog Weekend, sort of like an open mic night. She was allowing others to post a blog on her blog about anything, promoting themselves or their product, suggesting a cool tool, whatever. I needed this to promote my writing biz so that’s exactly what I did. I’m not usually one for shameless promotion but this was too good of an opportunity to miss. So, the other thank you goes to Kelly McCausey, host of WAHMTalkRadio. I could thank Kelly for so much because she has been such an influence on my businesses and she knows that, at least I hope she does.

I am always a big fan of saying, “Thank you” whether it is for a small deed or a gigantic favor. Around here at home, I am the queen of Thank you notes. Thank you! Well, online this is the next best thing I guess. So ladies, consider this a thank you note!

Fresh Air and Freedom Friday

This morning I was twittering to some friends and decided hey I am a WAHM I can take the day off. After being busy the last 2 week, writing articles and caring for sick kids I have had very little time away from the house. I have missed Wednesday, Sunday and Wednesday services at church, which is rare for me and I have only been to the grocery store for a quick pick up of food in the last 2 weeks. Needless to say I was getting cabin fever!

Today, after picking up my son I phoned my hubby and decided to steal away. He said to come to lunch with him, so we opted for something cheap, since money is still an issue around here. We grabbed some chips and salsa and appetizers at the Mexican place in the town where he works and I made a trip to the SuperCenter for an item or two I can not get at the grocery store nearer to our house that I have been shopping at since the kids were sick, mainly because its closer.

Anyway, I am glad to have my fresh air and freedom Friday. It was much needed, oh and tonight I don’t have to cook, going to my parents house to dinner for my younger brother who turned 22 yesterday. I know he’s still a baby! He he! I’m five years his elder and I have a birthday a week from today!

Wanting my hairstyle back….

bad hairstyleDo you see that hairstyle I had in the header up there, and on the right sidebar?? I thought I wanted it shorter then, when it sorta did it’s on thing on the sides but the bangs hung perfectly.  I thought, “I have too much hair.”  Why did I think such a thing…. it was so perfect!

Now, I have a slightly shorter cut, different style and my bangs just almost don’t even exist compared to those.   Do you see the difference, the bangs are thin and man I just don’t like them.  I (whine) want my hairstyle back.  So, the only thing to do is let it grow I guess.  Ladies, why do we do this to ourselves?  Kill a perfectly good hairstyle on a whim!  I’ve done it many times before, and I’m sure I’ll do it again.   Why can’t I just learn my darn lesson already?

Wordless Wednesday - Can you guess what this was about?

My New Header

Wowza! My friend Jen Houck has given my header a makeover. How cool is that? I know that I just got the other one. But you know us girls, we just have to have a change every once in a while. That’s just how we work. So, thanks so much Jen. I love the new look. What about you folks out there?

Look! My cuties are even on there!

Rockin’ and Rollin’

Today, though it started out slow, ended up being very productive.  I did 4 articles before noon, and afternoon I spoke with a couple of clients on the phone and wrote a proposal for a meeting I have tomorrow with a ministry client.  I was feeling quite accomplished by this afternoon.

I did hear from the associate pastor at the church I am in the process of being hired at, they meet with the deacons about it again the first Sunday in November.  I’m glad to hear an update.  It made me feel better to know it’s still on go for now!

In the meantime, I am really enjoying my new ghostwriting biz, I just can’t seem to say that enough!
